The Regional Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) provides
the building that Whistler Animals Galore currently
occupies, as well as funding grants. In exchange, WAG provides
animal bylaw services for the municipality.
In all, this only provides 28% of the funds WAG needs to perform its animal rescue mandate.
The remaining funds need to be raised from corporate and individual donors and sponsors, fundraising events and other local activities.
Comparing 2009 and 2010, the percentage of animals received from Mt. Currie is down by 15%, Whistler is up by 16%, and Pemberton remains the same. The percentage of dogs received from Mt. Currie is up by 1%, Whistler is up by 11%, and Pemberton remains the same. The percentage of cats received from Mt. Currie is down by 19%, Whistler is up by 25%, and Pemberton is the same.
