About Me:

Hi I'm Linus!

WAG has just recently had Linus brought into our care, from our shelter in Pemberton PAWS. They had this to pass along about him, but keep an eye on things as we get to know this big boy more!

I am a very big boy, who has never had any training in my life. I am friendly, but I’m so big sometimes I don’t know my own strength. I haven’t spent much time around other dogs yet, but with slow introductions, this may be something that could happen in the future! Unfortunately, I had been beaten up by a dog pretty badly before I arrived at PAWS, but thankfully I’m all fixed up now!

I need a dog experienced home who can help me learn the skills I need to be a good boy. I have a kind heart and just want to be with the volunteers as much as possible. I don’t know how to travel in cars or walk on a leash very well, so I would like help learning these new skills! I need a home with no small animals, as I have a high prey drive. I am a little bit of a goofball and don't know my own size, so a home with older kids would be okay, but young kids I could easily knock over a toddler. I would like a person who is willing to take it slow meeting me and spend the time to get to know me while I’m at the shelter first. Someone who wants to get on board with my training plan is necessary!  Could you be my furrever family?

My Story:

I was surrendered to PAWS after I had been roaming the streets for a while. My life before coming to the shelter is a bit of a mystery.

If you cannot adopt at this time, please consider donating to WAG or PAWS, as we both work closely to help the animals in our communities!

I Love -  Head-scratches, stomach rubs, relaxing, walking, adventures, cuddles
I have - A bit of a sensitive belly, a sweet and sensitive personality, a fear of noises behind me
I get along with - Most people and dogs, occasionally can be apprehensive around males. I’m very quiet, relaxed and easy
I would rather not - Ride in the car, not a car dog.

Age: 2 years old (Approximately)
Size: Medium
Where you can find me: In a foster home

Energy Level: Very high
Training Goals: Basic Manners & loose leash walking - Mandatory post-adoption training session booked with WAG approved trainer
House trained? Yes
Kids? 15 years+

Cats? Unknown
Dogs? Unknown
Medical Needs: None

About Me:

Hi I'm Cody!

I am new to the shelter, but am doing really well in my foster home.

My foster home had some notes to pass along -

Cody was very worried when he first came home and would not relax or stop pacing unless he was touching one of us and no amount of walks seemed to tire him out. As he’s started to feel more safe and relaxed he has turned into a different doggo! He has become a sofa cuddle and nap king.  He definitely has a high energy drive but as long as he gets enough exercise he is the BIGGEST snuggler and would happily cuddle you all day long (no really, all day). He is a super sweet and loving boy who wants to be best friends with every person or dog he meets. He does need some extra training, especially with leash pulling but is all around an amazing little guy with SO much love to give. Every person that meets him falls in love with him. He is very calm and easygoing whilst in the home and is an absolute joy to have around the house.

My Perfect Match

  • Able to provide a calm, nurturing environment with people that will pay attention to any signs of anxiety I may show.
  • Is willing to take a few trips to WAG to get to know me before taking me home.

  • I need a home that is committed to me and ready to give me a life with love and adventure for the rest of my years.

My Story:

My life before WAG is a bit of a mystery. I was left abandoned and didn't have a home. Some concerned citizens kept an eye on me, but were unable to care for me, so I was brought to WAG.

If you cannot adopt, please consider adopting to WAG so they can continue to save lives like mine.

About Me:

Hi, I'm Diego!

I have only been at WAG for a week now, but apparently I am a popular guy! I have gone into a foster home who has said this about me!

I was pretty nervous going to a new home, but after a little while I settled right in! I am a big puppy, I like to bite and nip at your ankles and feet when I am really excited and playful! If you give me a toy though I will happily play with that instead! I am a good boy on leash, my foster thinks with the right training I could do well running along with a bike!

I am quite interested in bugs and squirrels, so I may not be the best fit for young and playful cats.

I am pretty nervous of other dogs at first, and kids and new people(with big beards) as well. I like to keep my distance, but after a few moments though my tail will wag.

I need a home that is committed to me and ready to give me a life with love and adventure for the rest of my years. A little bit of training with my new family would also be beneficial to all of us. I can't wait to find my forever home.

My Story:

I was a loved dog, but my family could no longer afford my care, they made the hard choice to surrender me to WAG in hopes that I will find a family that will be able to take care of me for all my years to come!

If you cannot adopt at this time, please consider donating to WAG!

Sampson – Adopted September 2020!

Gender: Male
Age: 3 Years
Size: Large
Where you can find me: At WAG
Energy Level: Medium
Training Goals: Gaining confidence in the home, meeting new people, learning to walk on leash.
House trained? Working on it

Dogs? Unknown
Medical Needs: Neuter surgery & dental extractions will be needed

My Perfect Match:

-Experience with fearful/feral dogs

-No kids and a quiet lifestyle

-Has lots of patience and understanding of my past.

-Will go very slow with me and let me gain confidence, I have never lived in a home before, been on a leash or harness, and many other things that most dog owners take for granted.

- I am still learning how to enjoy being inside, I can be quite stressed and will need time learn to enjoy living in a home.

-Willing to take multiple trips to WAG to build trust and a relationship with me.

-Will keep me on leash and safe with a GPS tracker - I am a flight risk!

-A safe and secure fenced yard is a huge plus!

-Will love me forever no matter what!

About Me:

I am very shy and scared. I like human company and to be gently brushed and pat. I am very nervous about this new environment and I sneakily try to escape whenever I'm alone. I am a fetch champion and if you have a little tennis ball we'll be good friends. Once I am more comfortable, I will be happy in a quiet home with someone who understands me and my special needs.

My Story:

I was surrendered from a loving family who just couldn't care for me anymore. It was scary and sad, now I'm in this whole new environment with a different routine. Everyone is great here, but it's taking me time to settle in; I hope my new family is just as patient.

I was brought to WAG's facility where they have been working with me daily to build up my confidence and trust, and in the last few days, I have made good progress.

I now allow them to touch me and am showing my playful side in the yard!

My Perfect Match:

-Has another confident dog to help me feel safe.

-Experience with fearful/feral dogs

-No kids and a quiet lifestyle

-Has lots of patience and understanding of my past - I had no human contact for the first months of my life and was feral.

- Will not be offended if I do not warm up to you right away! It took me months to trust my friends at WAG and you will have to be willing to give me the time I need.

-Willing to take multiple trips to WAG to build trust and a relationship with me.

-Will keep me on leash and safe with a GPS tracker - I am a flight risk!

-A safe and secure fenced yard is a huge plus!

-Will love me forever no matter what!

About Me:

I am very shy and not used to human interaction. I only learned to walk on a leash recently, but still very nervous and am just staying close to the shelter. I was only touched by humans for the first time in the past few months and I need a confident dog friend to show me that all humans are not bad.
Once I have learned a little more, I will be happy in a quiet home with someone who understands me and my special needs.

My Story:

I was rescued with my litter mates from a remote area where I had no family and no human interaction. I was brought to PAWS in Pemberton, where I started to learn that all humans were not bad, though I was not making progress there, as I would not let any of them touch me!

I was transferred to WAG's facility where they have been working with me daily to build up my confidence and trust, and in the last few weeks, I have made huge progress.

I now allow them to touch me and have even worn a harness and been outside of the shelter! This is huge for me!
