Tito's, Vodka for Dog People!
Tito’s Handmade Vodka is produced in Austin at Texas’ oldest legal distillery and is dedicated to helping pets in need through a variety of ways.
WAG is honored to be part of their fundraising initiatives!
WAG defines Critical Care as any medical need or expense that goes beyond the routine deworming, vaccination, and spay-neuter protocol, and WAG is often called in at the most critical time, even if it is on a long weekend!
Alice was found by her loving family on Easter weekend, collapsed in a field, inexplicably paralyzed, and unable to stand or walk. They contacted a WAG volunteer and local superhero, and in no time, she was driving Alice down to the 24-hour emergency clinic, Mountainside Animal Hospital, in North Vancouver. Thank you to the wonderful doctors and staff who cared for her during her stay.
Alice received blood work, hospitalization, IV fluids, x-rays, and 24-hour monitoring and care. With initial diagnostics being inconclusive, her condition's cause was still a mystery. Though she was paralyzed, Alice was generally in stable condition and we decided to give her a chance at recovery by trying a variety of treatments, in the hopes that one will work.
She was transferred to Eagleview Veterinary Hospital and into the wonderful care of Dr. Armstrong, and then released to WAG.
Though we only knew Alice for a short time, she was incredibly loved and cared for by WAG staff and was never left alone. Unfortunately, however, her condition suddenly declined, and she passed away from unknown causes.
Alice was described by her family as "...such a good girl, good protector, she was such an amazing mama, the best companion, she was so good with the boys, always watched over them."
Though we are all devastated by her loss, our inability to save her, and the unanswered questions about her affliction, Alice's life is proof that WAG makes a difference.
Not just in the lives of dogs and cats but in the lives and mindsets of their owners. Alice was almost 6 years old and lived a happy healthy life. She was vaccinated, spayed and microchipped with regular check-ups through WAG's Mount Currie Animal Wellness Clinics. When this terrible accident happened to Alice, her family reached out for help. They didn't let her suffer.... her well-being was their priority and WAG jumped in to do all they could.
At WAG, we strive to give every animal a chance at health and happiness, and Alice was no different.
We are now launching a campaign to replenish the funds used for her medical bills, as well as have money in the bank for our next Critical Care animal in need.
Please consider donating to ALICE'S MEMORIAL FUND and help make a difference in the lives of animals like Alice.
Tax receipts are available for all donations over $20.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.
Elevating your doggos cuteness one hat at a time.
Handmade with tons of love in Vancouver, B.C.
About the Creator:
"Hi! My name is Andrea, born and raised in El Salvador, and currently living in Vancouver, Canada. I started crocheting not too long ago and quickly realized this was the hobby I was longing for. Last year, I decided to blend this new passion with another lifetime obsession of mine: dogs. I love dogs. Okay, that's an understatement, I ADORE dogs. Any and all dogs. I truly believe they are angels on Earth who deserve the whole entire world. Yarn & Bones was born from a place of love (some may say obsession, which is partly true).
Our mission is quite simple: to elevate dogs’ innate cuteness even further by dressing them up in the cutest crocheted hats. I simply just want to continue creating beautiful and fun accessories that bring a big big smile to you and your pups."

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of a dear friend and WAG supporter, and pillar in both the Whistler and environmental communities, Tobias Douglas.
Co-founder of one of our favorite companies, Hollow Tree, Tobias was active in the shelter community and passionate about all animal welfare and environmental issues. She and her husband, Grant, generously donated three, custom-made, cedar-shingled dog houses to WAG and they are still standing and well-loved today.
Her support for WAG continued with the creation of a custom candle label from her Hollow Tree candle company, designed just for WAG. With specially ordered red foil and a theme of "Love", it was the perfect tribute to her vision and her love of shelter animals. She generously donated these incredible candles to WAG to help us raise funds for our animals.
Her loss is shocking and devastating to the WAG team and is deeply felt by all of us.
Stay tuned for a tribute from WAG to this incredible woman.
Here is the official announcement from her company:
"Hollow Tree Co-founder Tobias Douglas was born December 19, 1972. At the age of 19 she began tree planting in the forests of British Columbia. Years later she led an accomplished career writing environmental policy to protect the forests she loved. A longing for her days in the forest led her to create Hollow Tree. At a time when she could not find a rich scent that encapsulated her experience in the trees, she created her own. This began a chapter, a community, a brand that stands for everything that was uniquely Tobias. Deep care, quality, timelessness and artistry.
Tobias led a private and deeply compassionate life. That was seen in her love for her husband and Co-Founder Grant, and her connection and commitment to protecting the environment and the animals that habitat within it.
It has taken us a moment to express this. The sudden and unexpected end of a life, of a brave and untamed heart. With great sadness, we share the passing of our beloved Co-Founder, Tobias Douglas.
While her legacy lives on in the Hollow Tree brand, led by the team she built with her husband and Co-founder Grant. Hollow Tree will continue to stand for everything that was uniquely Tobias.
To quote our beloved Co-founder and her description of the Fireweed scent, a tiny, fragile, pink floret, that is the first plant to grow after a forest fire. “BC forests breath a melody of poetry - through such devastation comes such intrinsic beauty”.
In lieu of gifts or flowers it would mean most to carry on supporting the cause dearest to Tobias’ heart. We have included a link in the profile to donate to Save BC Wolves.
With love and forested thanks,
Friends of Tobias and Hollow Tree"
