About Me:

Hi I'm Jade!

I'm a young girl who has spent most of my life in the great outdoors! So many things seem to be new to me, including the car journey to the shelter and sleeping inside. I've been at WAG for a few weeks now, but luckily I have been staying in a wonderful foster home where I can relax and be away from the busyness of the shelter. I've learnt a lot so far, such as learning to walk on a leash using my new harness, learning to settle inside and of course enjoying all of the different treats my new friends have offered me alongside cuddles and play.

I have been to the vet for my first checkup appointment and vaccine, I was really brave and was found to have fleas and an ear infection but I'm recovering well from these issues. I seem pleased to be inside now that the temperatures have dropped and am awaiting my spay appointment coming up soon. It was delayed a little as I came into heat not long after I arrived at WAG. I've had a couple of litters already according to reports, although I am only a young girl still! I've been introduced to some other dogs, I seem to like most of them if they are polite, although I wasnt too keen on making friends with one of the puppies at WAG. I'm so over being a momma and just want to be a puppy myself now thank you!

I really am such a sweetheart, and a bit of a velcro gal who follows my friends around, sitting on their feet and leaning into their legs to ask for cuddles and pets. Couch cuddles are the bestest, I was timid at first but seem to love men and women and am quick to trust humans. I've been learning new skills at my foster home, such as more on basic manners, settling into a more urban environment and how to play with toys! I WAG my tail at the sounds of 'happy talk' and will investigate all pockets for treats and goodies. I'm so excited for my new adventures and can't wait to be adopted and truely let the next phase of my young life begin....in my forever home! If you think we'd be a great fit, please scroll down and fill out an application form today!

My Perfect Match:

-Is willing to take a trip or two to WAG to get to know me before taking me home. I am new around here and everything is new to me.

- A family with patience who love sweet, gentle young dogs who are keen to be your shadow.

- Understanding that I have had HUGE changes in my life recently and to give me the time I need to settle in and relax after my adoption. Especially if I am to live with other dogs or young humans. I am new to car rides, being inside and going for leashed walks!

- Be proactive with my training, using a WAG approved trainer that will help me learn new skills and give me the best set up for success.

- Having a safe & secured yard would be a bonus for morning zoomies and play sessions! If not, being okay with using a long line to allow freedom but keep me safe.

- Will take me for annual vet checkups and be proactive with my health.

My Story:

Some members of a community several hours North of Whistler were keeping an eye on me and feeding me but found that I had no fixed address and reached out to WAG for assistance. I've got lots of friends who care about my wellbeing but it was time for me to receive medical attention and of course be spayed to make sure I have no more litters of puppies in my future. WAG is assisting with other well loved dogs in the area with food donations, spay and neuter assistance, de-wormer and more to help keep these dogs healthy, happy and with their loved ones.

If you are not in a position to adopt right now, please consider making a donation to WAGs fund to help me and other doggos in need in more remote communities with less access to care and pet resources.
