My story:

Hi, I'm Bear!

I’m just over a year old, and every day I’m discovering more about the big, wide world. My confidence is growing so much, things that used to spook me (like a plastic bag appearing out of nowhere!) don’t bother me nearly as much anymore. I’m getting braver all the time.

I arrived at WAG with my four siblings, and I’m happy to share that all of them have now been adopted! That means it’s officially my turn to find my forever family.

It can take me a little time to trust new people, but once I know you’re kind and safe, I’ll be right by your side asking for cuddles. I promise the wait is worth it, I give the best snuggles.

One of my absolute favourite things in the whole world is fetch. I LOVE it. I always bring the ball right back because I never want the game to end, if you throw it, I’m already sprinting after it. Playing fetch is pure joy for me.

I’ve also been making some new friends lately, both dog friends and human ones, which has helped me grow even more confident. I’m going for walks much more bravely now, exploring with curiosity and excitement.

I’m still a sensitive guy though, so sometimes new or unexpected things can scare me. But with reassurance and a calm voice, I bounce back quickly and keep trying my best.

What I’m hoping for is a kind, patient family who will keep cheering me on as I learn and grow. With love, gentle guidance, and maybe a pocket full of treats, I’ll blossom into the most loyal, playful, and snuggly companion you could ever ask for.

If you are unable to adopt at this time, please consider becoming a member of WAG's monthly donation club - 'Love on Four Legs'. Your monthly gift helps fund urgent medical care, safe shelter, adoption and fostering programs, and essential community education on responsible pet ownership. With your support, our dedicated team can ensure that every animal receives the care, love, and second chance they deserve.

My perfect home:

  • Is patient and understands that I will need time to settle in and relax after my adoption and go at my own pace. I have had lots of huge change in my life recently and have a lot to learn.

  • Be proactive with my training, using a WAG approved trainer that will help me gain confidence and give me the best set up for success in my new life.

  • Having a safe & secured yard would be a bonus for morning zoomies and ball play sessions! If not, being okay with using a long line to allow plenty of freedom but keep me safe works too.

  • Will take me for regular vet checkups and be proactive with my health, whatever that may include moving forward.
