My story:
Meet Beau – Your Adventure Buddy with a Heart of Gold!
Hey there! My name’s Beau, and I’ve been at WAG for over a year now. I’ve come a long way, and thanks to my amazing foster family, I’m thriving and ready to find my forever home!
I live up to my name—I’m a handsome boy inside and out, with a goofy, loving personality that shines once I feel comfortable. I’ve stolen hearts everywhere I’ve been with my sweet, adventurous spirit.
My Favorite Things..
I’m a true outdoorsy dog! Hiking, swimming, paddleboarding—you name it, I’m up for it. I’ll happily play fetch in a safe space, splash in the lake, or try to chase birds like I can fly too. After a good adventure, though, my favorite place is curled up on the couch next to you, soaking up cuddles. I love company and will be your little shadow around the house.
I’m also a big fan of treats (okay, obsessed with them), puzzle toys, and training games. I know lots of commands—sit, down, paw, spin, wait, even “legs” where I sit between yours! I’m super food-motivated, which makes training fun for both of us.
My Quirks and Progress..
Like anyone, I’ve got a few quirks. I can be unsure around moving things like bikes, ski poles, or strollers, but I’m improving every day with consistency and patience. New people are exciting, and sometimes I get a little too bouncy or vocal—but once I trust you, I’m all cuddles and love. I prefer when people let me come to them at my own pace.
I’m currently on anti-anxiety medication to help me adjust to life’s changes, and it’s been a big support. I’ve had a bumpy road—originally adopted from PAWS in Pemberton, I needed a home that could better meet my high-energy needs. With structure, exercise, and calm routines, I truly thrive.
My Foster Family says..
I’m cuddly, goofy, and think I’m a lap dog (despite my size).
I walk well, love chewing sticks, digging, and playing in nature.
I settle beautifully in the evenings and sleep soundly through the night.
With puzzle toys, I can be left home alone, though I really love having company.
I’m working hard on my training and making great progress every day.
I’m looking for an active, dog-experienced family who can offer me plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and ongoing training. With the right routine, I’ll be an amazing companion, full of love and excitement. I have so much to give and can’t wait to settle into a home where I can flourish.
If you think we’re a match, please fill out an application to adopt, or get in touch with WAG to find out more. I can’t wait to meet my furrrrrever family and start our journey together!
My perfect home:
Is dog savvy and willing to take a couple of trips to get to know me before taking me home. I can sometimes be unsure of new people when I first meet them so we take things slow
A family with patience who love big, goofy, affectionate doggos
Understanding that I have had HUGE changes in my life and will need you to give me the time I need to settle in and relax after my adoption
Be proactive with my training, using a local WAG approved trainer that will help me learn transition and give me the best set up for success. Including being pro-muzzle and keen to continue my muzzle training plan
Having a safe & secured yard would be a bonus for morning zoomies and ball play sessions! If not, being okay with using a long line to allow plenty of freedom but keep me safe as I settle in. I can become overwhelmed as I look to you to help me feel safe
Will take me for regular vet checkups and be proactive with my health
