My story:

Meet Kya Rose, our newest WAG resident! 🌹

Kya Rose arrived at WAG at the start of January and is still adjusting to shelter life, but her joyful personality is already shining through. She’s a bouncy, affectionate little girl with the cutest underbite-seriously, it’s impossible not to smile when you see it.

As she continues to settle in, Kya has met a few other dogs and has done wonderfully with proper introductions. Playing with dog friends is one of her favorite ways to let out some of that young-dog energy, and it really helps her thrive. She’s also been great on walks and absolutely loves car rides, she’ll happily curl up and fall asleep like a perfect co-pilot.

Kya is still young and can be a bit mouthy at times, so she would do best in a home without young children for now as we still get to know her. With consistent training, structure, and plenty of enrichment, especially playtime with other dogs, we’re confident she’ll continue to mature into an amazing companion as she settles in more.

She could potentially live with another dog, though we’re still getting to know her. Kya has only met a handful of dogs so far, but all interactions have gone well with proper introductions. She’s a small girl with a big heart and absolutely loves attention.

If Kya sounds like your perfect match, please reach out to the shelter if you have any questions or would like to learn more about her.

If you are unable to adopt at this time, please consider donating to Kya Rose's care. Your donation helps fund urgent medical care, safe shelter, adoption and fostering programs, and essential community education on responsible pet ownership. With your support, our dedicated team can ensure that every animal receives the care, love, and second chance they deserve.

My perfect home:

  • Is patient and understands that I will need time to settle in and relax after my adoption and go at my own pace. I have had lots of huge change in my life recently and have a lot to learn.

  • Be proactive with my training, using a WAG approved trainer that will help me gain confidence and give me the best set up for success in my new life.

  • Will take me for regular vet checkups and be proactive with my health, whatever that may include moving forward.
