My story:
Meet Leroy!
A boisterous, bouncy, occasionally smelly, limited-manners sweetheart—and proud of it.
Leroy came to WAG at the start of January and has left paw prints on the hearts of staff and volunteers alike with his goofy, loving personality. He’s still very young (around a year old), so he’s got a few puppy traits left—he can get a little mouthy when he’s over-excited, especially when meeting new people. But it’s all enthusiasm, and underneath it all he’s the sweetest boy.
Leroy has settled into shelter life beautifully. He knows when it’s playtime and when it’s chill time. When things get serious in the office, he’s happy to relax by your feet (or nearby) until you’re ready to give him some attention again.
He’s done really well meeting other dogs, he’s only met a few so far, but while he can come in a bit hot, it’s all pure excitement and friendly energy. Leroy has also been smashing his walks with volunteers and has quickly become a new favourite.
All in all, Leroy is just a super goofy lad who wants nothing more than to share his love with everyone he meets. Leroy is now looking for a home that can continue his training, give him plenty of structure, and keep up with his fun, energetic personality. In return, he promises endless laughs, love, and goofy companionship.
If you are unable to adopt at this time, please consider donating to Leroy's care. Your donation helps fund urgent medical care, safe shelter, adoption and fostering programs, and essential community education on responsible pet ownership. With your support, our dedicated team can ensure that every animal receives the care, love, and second chance they deserve.
My perfect home:
Is patient and understands that I will need time to settle in and relax after my adoption and go at my own pace. I have had lots of huge change in my life recently and have a lot to learn.
Be proactive with my training, using a WAG approved trainer that will help me gain confidence and give me the best set up for success in my new life.
Will take me for regular vet checkups and be proactive with my health, whatever that may include moving forward.
