My story:
Hi, I’m Rae Rae!
I arrived at WAG last Christmas with my litter of seven beautiful puppies. I was a devoted mom even though I was barely more than a puppy myself. After watching all my babies head off to loving homes, I’ve been waiting patiently for my turn and now it’s been a whole year.
During my time at the shelter, I’ve blossomed into a sweet, affectionate girl who loves belly rubs, playtime, and curling up for warm cuddles. I’ve got so much love in my heart, and I’m ready to share it with someone special.
A work in Progress, but Full of Personality
I’ve made huge strides over the past year, but I still have some quirks and who doesn’t? I can be reactive to traffic and to unfamiliar dogs, especially when things feel busy or overwhelming. The good news: with consistency, time, and positive reinforcement, I’m learning how to navigate the world with more confidence.
When I’m in a calm, safe space, my playful side shines! I love chasing toys, playing silly games, and zooming around with all my goofy energy. And once playtime winds down, I’m always ready for cuddles, snacks, and quiet time.
My Dog Social Skills
I do have some dog friends, I especially like the senior old boys! I do best with calm, gentle dogs and slow, respectful introductions. New dogs can still feel overwhelming for me, and I may react at first, but with practice, guidance, and more training, I could definitely keep improving. I just need someone who understands my pace.
Why I'm Worth it
I’m not a “ready-made” dog, but I am a loyal, loving companion in the making. With patience, love and structure- I know I can thrive. I just need someone to see the real me, the snuggly, big-hearted girl who wants nothing more than to feel safe and connected.
WAG is still hoping to find me a foster home where I can decompress more fully while I wait for my forever family.
My Perfect Home
I’m looking for a patient, understanding home that will help me continue to grow. My ideal setup includes:
A quieter, less urban environment
A secure yard or safe area to explore on a long line
A commitment to positive reinforcement training with a WAG-approved trainer
Humans who can read or are willing to learn canine body language
No pressure to be perfect — just love, consistency, and compassion
With the right people by my side, I know I can shine.
Are you the one who will finally give me the chance I’ve been waiting for?
My perfect home:
A family with patience who love sweet cuddly young dogs who need some extra support, able to provide me with a safe space.
Is ready for the 10+ year commitment.
Understanding that I have had HUGE changes in my life. I will need you to give me the time I need to settle in and relax after my adoption, whilst you help me gain confidence.
Be proactive with my training, using a WAG approved trainer that will help me learn transition and give me the best set up for success.
Having a safe & secured yard would be a bonus for ball play sessions! If not, being okay with using a long line to allow plenty of freedom but keep me safe as I settle in.
Will take me for regular vet checkups and be proactive with my health.
I need a home that is committed to me and ready to give me a life with love and kindness for the rest of my years.
