My story:

Hi, I’m Rae Rae!

A joyful, affectionate girl with big energy and an even bigger personality

Rae Rae arrived at WAG at Christmas 2024 as a young mum with seven puppies. She did a fantastic job raising her litter, and after watching each one head off to their forever homes, Rae Rae has now been waiting patiently for hers for over 400 days.

Rae Rae is a fun, affectionate dog who genuinely loves people. She enjoys attention, belly rubs, playtime, and once she’s decided you’re her person, she’s very happy to share cuddles and companionship (sometimes enthusiastically!).

A Work in Progress — Full of Personality

Rae Rae has made huge strides over the past year, though she still has a few quirks- and who doesn’t? She can find traffic, busy environments, and unfamiliar dogs overwhelming at times, but with consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement, she’s learning to navigate the world with growing confidence.

In calm, safe spaces, her playful personality really shines. She loves chasing toys, zooming around, and playing silly games, and once she’s had her fun, she’s more than happy to settle for cuddles, snacks, and some well-earned downtime.

Recently, Rae Rae spent time in foster care in Birken, living with multiple other dogs, and truly surprised us all. With slow introductions and the chance to adjust at her own pace, she handled meeting new dogs far better than expected and settled comfortably into a home environment. This experience showed us just how capable she is when her needs are understood.

My Dog Social Skills

Rae Rae can enjoy the company of other dogs and tends to do best with calm and gentle dogs. She benefits from slow, managed introductions and continued training, and her recent progress shows she’s moving in a really positive direction.

Why I'm Worth it

I’m not a “ready-made” dog, but I am a loyal, loving companion in the making. With patience, love and structure- I know I can thrive. I just need someone to see the real me, the snuggly, big-hearted girl who wants nothing more than to feel safe and connected.

WAG is still hoping to find me a foster home where I can decompress more fully while I wait for my forever family.

My Perfect Home

I’m looking for a patient, understanding home that will help me continue to grow. My ideal setup includes:

  • A quieter, less urban environment

  • A secure yard or safe area to explore on a long line

  • A commitment to positive reinforcement training with a WAG-approved trainer

  • Humans who can read or are willing to learn canine body language

  • No pressure to be perfect — just love, consistency, and compassion

With the right people by my side, I know I can shine.

Are you the one who will finally give me the chance I’ve been waiting for?

My perfect home:

  • A family with patience who love sweet cuddly young dogs who need some extra support, able to provide me with a safe space.

  • Is ready for the 10+ year commitment.

  • Understanding that I have had HUGE changes in my life. I will need you to give me the time I need to settle in and relax after my adoption, whilst you help me gain confidence.

  • Will understand canine body language (or is willing to learn) and will listen to my communication when I am unsure of new things, and go at my own pace as I settle into my new surroundings.

  • Be proactive with my training, using a WAG approved trainer that will help me learn transition and give me the best set up for success.

  • Having a safe & secured yard would be a bonus for ball play sessions! If not, being okay with using a long line to allow plenty of freedom but keep me safe as I settle in.

  • Will take me for regular vet checkups and be proactive with my health.

  • I need a home that is committed to me and ready to give me a life with love and kindness for the rest of my years.
